Under the 334 Academic Reform in Hong Kong, 2012 is the last year that we launch the 3-year undergraduate degree programs.
There will be no more intake for the 3-year undergraduate degree programs in the year 2013 and onwards.
The Department has two existing three-year programs that lead to the BSc degree in Mathematics and in Mathematics
and Economics.
The BSc degree in Mathematics program offered by the Mathematics Department of HKUST is unique among all universities in the territory.
We offer six options (with many areas of concentration) in Pure Mathematics, Mathematics & Physics, General Mathematics,
Mathematical Sciences, Applied Mathematics and Statistics.
The BSc in Mathematics and Economics degree program
is jointly offered by the Department of Mathematics
and Department of Economics. It provides students
with solid training in fundamental theories in both
mathematics and economics (minimum eight courses in
mathematics and eight courses in economics). The
curriculum equips students with quantitative reasoning
skills, conceptual understanding and the ability to
effectively communicate in mathematics and in the
language of economics and social sciences.
