MATH 512: Advanced Algebra II

Course Description:

This course is the second part of a one-year course on graduate algebra.  It covers some basic topics for young people who want to be  mathematicians and in particular prepare them for the Ph. D. qualifying examinations.  It is based on Chapters 17-21 of the textbook.

Grading:

The grades of the course are based on the following numerical grades: (i) Homework (50%); (ii) Midterm examination (25%); (iii) Final examination (25%).
