B) About the exam format of our final, there will be 6 long problems and 4
short problems. The exam will cover pretty much everything we discussed in
the lectures, but will emphasize on materials after the midterm exam. You
may find a detailed summary of the topics in the previous email or from
the class webpage.
C) I will have extra office hour next week on MONDAY (Dec 14) 2-4pm and
WEDNESDAY (Dec 16) 230-430pm.
D) We will start grading right after our exam. You will have a chance to
take a look at your graded final on/before Dec 24. The date will depend on
when we finish grading. More information will be send to you by Dec 20
(Sunday). Please check your email and I will also post the information on
the class webpage.

1. ALL homework solutions are now online. Please take a look. There
were mistakes I made in the HW3 and 5 solutions. I have now fixed them.

given.

Grading System
Your grade will be determined according to 25% midterm and 75% final.
Homework
Homework will be assigned more or less weekly. You don't have to but ARE HIGHLY ENCOURAGED to hand them in.
But if you do, they will be graded so that you can keep track of your own progress.
There will be one midterm exam and one final exam. The final exam will be
comprehensive. No makeup exam will be given.
All the exams in this course are "closed book" -- no books, notes, calculators, PDAs, cell phones, etc.
